Arrest and Trial
Melvin Morse was arrested in August of 2013 and charged with seven felony counts of child endangerment. These were sensationalized in the media as charges that he waterboarded his "companion's" daughter, essentially his step-daughter.
Although the prosecutor and the media constantly called the endangerment "waterboarding", no CIA type torture or waterboarding was ever described at trial.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS CONVICTED OF DOING
The young lady described at trial throwing up on herself. Dr. Morse then placed her in a tub of water and washed the vomit off her. He asked her if she was going to be sick again, and finished washing the vomit off her.She does not describe being forced fed, as it once stated in the Wikipedia article. She clearly describes overeating, throwing up, and being placed in a tub to wash vomit off her. Click here for trial reports.
Dr. Morse was charged with seven felonies and convicted of one count of child endangerment, not child abuse.
Dr. Morse was convicted of one felony count of child endangerment. This is not child abuse or anything to do with sexual assault. The jury found that she was endangered but not injured.
Eugene Braxton cited in Wikipedia is a self proclaimed mystic and wrote about Dr. Morse in his self published book on near death experiences.
Wikipedia describes Dr. Morse as so desperate to reclaim his near death crown that he was convicted of performing end of life experiments on the young lady. In fact, no end of life events were described at trial, the young lady was not near death or physically injured in any way, and described the events leading to the felony conviction as occuring after she threw up on herself. Eugene Braxton is the self proclaimed "America's Psychic" and self published his book on near death experiences. He used Dr. Morse's heart breaking situation to further his own agenda.At Dr. Morse's sentencing, Judge Stokes specifically called the idea that Dr. Morse was performing end of life experiments on his accuser "speculative" and stated that he saw the situation differently. Dr. Morse's accuser admitted that she lied about accusing her half sister of sexual assault.
Under cross examination by Dr. Morse's attorney, the young lady who accused Dr. Morse admitted that she had previously falsely accused her half sister of sexual assault. Her half sister went to prison for two years.
She also accused her half sister of trying to suffocate her, locking her in her room, pushing her down stairs and attacking her with a knife, all of which she later admitted were untrue.Click here to link to news article

The Young Lady's Therapist Testified that Dr. Morse was previously falsely accused of slapping his accuser.
A year prior to Dr. Morse being arrested, his accuser told Delaware Family Services that he slapped her. Her therapist testified that this was a lie.Click here for trial testimony.
At trial, a social worker testifies that Dr. Morse's child was told she could not go home unless Dr. Morse went to jail.
Social worker Reba West supervised the visits between Pauline Morse and Dr. Morse's accuser while he was waiting for trial and the children were in foster care. Pauline Morse admits she was having an affair when Dr. Morse was accused of waterboarding her daughter and that the couple was separating.

WHY CAN'T THE WIKIPEDIA ARTICLE BE CORRECTED?
The Wikipedia Article cites newspaper articles which printed the sensationalistic and invented claims that Dr. Morse waterboarded his step daughter.
She did not claim this at trial. No evidence of waterboarding was presented at trial.
But Wikipedia will only reference secondary sources, not primary sources. So Wikipedia will not reference the Medical Board hearing or the trial testimony or the actual charges he was convicted of as they are "primary" sources. Unfortunately for Dr. Morse, there is no one to now write "oh, we got it wrong, our bad, he didn't waterboard anyone afterall"
The lies spread around the world, the truth never gets printed.
WHY DO SOME HEADLINES SAY DR MORSE ABUSED HIS STEP-DAUGHTER?
Dr. Morse's accuser at trial accused him of a wide variety of abusive actions. On cross examination, it came out that word for word, these were the same accusations she made against her big sister. She admitted those accusations were false and that she wrongly sent her sister to prison for 2 years. See trial transcript section E23.
BUT DIDN'T DR. MORSE'S WIFE SAY HE ABUSED HIS DAUGHTER?
No she didn't. She was charged with seven felonies and told that unless Dr. Morse went to prison, she would have her children removed from her. Dr. Morse's accuser said the same thing on the witness stand that she was told that she couldn't be back with her mother unless Dr. Morse went to prison.
The children were put into foster care and not returned to their mother, while she waited for her trial. The prosecutor emailed DFS social workers and told them to keep the children in foster care as Pauline was not saying what they wanted her to say.
Pauline repeatedly admitted her testimony was lies, on the witness stand on cross examination. She had both children taken from her as the prosecution was not pleased with her testimony. They didn't want her to tell the truth, they just wanted her to say anything necessary to get a conviction.
